Baptist Health System recognizes that we are all unique individuals with varied benefit needs. Our Total Rewards program was designed with you and your individual needs in mind. Total Rewards encompasses your pay and your benefits, including the flexibility of your work schedule.
BHS offers a FlexChoice employment option which provides the opportunity to purchase medical insurance benefits. This staffing option requires that you be available to work at one of our four BHS hospitals for three 12-hour shifts each week. If you choose this staffing option, you can elect BHS medical insurance. You pay the full cost of the insurance on a monthly basis, via personal check.
BHS medical insurance includes prescription drug and vision benefits. Our two medical plans provide a comprehensive range of financial protection for most medical services you and your family might incur. The BHS medical plans are offered through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama (Blue Cross) and provide two levels of hospital benefits; the Baptist network and the Blue Cross PPO network. We also offer vision coverage as part of these two medical plans.
Prescription drug coverage is offered through Walgreens Health Initiative (WHI) and includes two levels of retail pharmacy coverage along with a mail-order pharmacy benefit. You automatically have prescription drug coverage when you enroll for medical insurance.
